At Orange and at Sofrecom, we are moving forward with the strong belief that digital technology is a lever for economic, social and environmental development. We want to ensure that everyone is able to harness its incredible potential for progress and innovation.

By establishing a voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility approach for all of our offices abroad, we aim to promote a set of responsible professional practices and behaviours, which are at the service of all our stakeholders: Employees, Customers, Suppliers and Partners.

Environment

In a world of limited natural resources, we believe that reducing our environmental impacts on the entire life cycle of our products and services is an essential condition for sustainability and competitiveness.

 

Sofrecom’s CSR approach is central to our company’s strategy and to our everyday actions.

To do this, our plan is structured around the following key areas:

Integrating sustainability issues into our client projects
  • Support/Encourage customers in the development of responsible products and services : green, compliant and available for all, safe safety personal data, safe and responsible uses
  • Develop infrastructures respecting environment : our engineering teams are systematically reinforced with environmental experts.
  • Encouraging the circular economy : we advise our clients to set up responsible equipment and telecom fleet management policies (reconditioning policy, use of reconditioned equipment, sorting and recycling of mobiles and PABXs, etc. ).
  • Ensure the know-how transfer at the end of our projects.
Selective sorting in France

With our partner Lemon Tri in France, we set up selective sorting solutions: recycling terminals for mobiles and batteries, paper, cups, coffee capsules, . . .

In our local offices, actions in favour of the environment are also carried out with associations or local authorities.
In 2018 we collected 862kg of recyclable flux at Sofrecom France. In 2019, we recycle 902Kg.

Gradually replace purchase of recyclable supplies

We take care to select suppliers and partners who are committed and socially responsible. For the company's needs we use recyclable paper for printing and we are generalizing green supplies.

For example: All of our communication deliverables (pens, notebooks, commercial brochures and white papers, . . . ) are made from recycled materials.

Participating in environmental actions

Sensitizing employees to the preservation of the environment is part of Sofrecom’s CSR policy. Throughout the year we organize events and actions for the environment:
- Eco-gesture training
- Beach cleaning in Tunisia
- Animations for the World Day of Sustainable Development...

Use digital solutions to limit travels

Our offices in Morocco, France, in the Middle East and Tunisia are equipped with video conference and conference calls.
The purpose of these facilities is to limit travel (air travel) in order to reduce the carbon footprint of Sofrecom while improving the working conditions of our employees.

At Sofrecom, our diversity and inclusion policy reflects the company's desire to attract and develop talent from all backgrounds, with different experiences and viewpoints. This policy, entitled “Diversity is a reality, inclusion is a choice” is broken down into 4 key areas:

 

Promoting diversity

Sofrecom is a partner of several associations that offer young people guidance and that help people who have greater difficulty accessing employment, such as young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or people with disabilities, to find and settle into work.

Sofrecom is also a partner of several universities and facilitates access to employment for young people through multiple internship offers and work-study roles.

In choosing its partners and suppliers, Sofrecom strives to work with companies that respect the values and principles of equality, inclusion and ethics that our company promotes.

Improving gender equality

We ensure equal pay for employees for both recruitment and training.

Through our projects, we contribute to the social development of the countries in which we operate by facilitating women’s access to technical jobs. For example, 31% of workers hired to deploy the Backbone project in Sub-Saharan Africa are women, and 47% of our engineers in North Africa are women.

Guaranteeing the best work-life balance

As our profession is demanding, we ensure that we offer a pleasant and friendly working environment to our employees by regularly organising activities designed to strengthen team spirit.

Improving day-to-day quality of life and organisation at work are at the heart of the Sofrecom Group's social policy: provision of comfortable workspaces, simplification of IT tools, work-life balance, etc.

Promoting the recruitment of people with disabilities

Our recruitment process focuses on skills and guarantees equal opportunities regardless of gender, disability, religion, ethnic origin or age.

Sofrecom is implementing employee awareness initiatives on disability issues and is developing its processes to promote the employment of people with disabilities. Promoting the recruitment of people with disabilities within the Sofrecom group is a real area of progress.

Ethics & Compliance

Keen to respect ethical rules and its environment, and to step up the fight against corruption, Sofrecom has made ethics a priority. In 2010, it became Orange's first entity to obtain the Ethical certification, issued by the independent body Ethic Intelligence, which attests to the compliance of all Sofrecom’s practices and activities with international ethical standards. Since 2018, we are also certified ISO 37001 "Anti-corruption management systems".

 

The ethics and the respect by all of the values and the principles of collective action and of individual behaviors are translated in a reference common to all the collaborators whatever their trades.
This reference framework defines and specifies the daily conduct between us, our customers, our competitors and more broadly, our environment.
This double approach to compliance, on the one hand, and compliance with laws and rules, and ethics, on the other hand, that is to say, Orange's commitments that go beyond legal norms alone , marks our desire to act as an actor of Responsible and trust.
