The MyCity platform, deployed in cooperation with Barcelona City Council, includes eight services designed for citizens and billed on a pay-per-use basis. The French IT services company has developed these context-aware mobile applications and is also hosting them on its own servers.
Among the apps available, FixThis allows users to report geo-located photo incidents with their smartphones. City Transport will enable citizens to check the availability and waiting times for nearby means of transport. Other applications include City Traffic, which display real-time traffic status, and iBiking, which provides up-to-date cycling system information, including user geo-location and bike station status.
Further services are expected to be added to MyCity in the coming months.
