Sofrecom, whose mission is to provide to the Orange Group its expertise in high growth markets is in charge of network development and all stages of launch: mobile offers marketing, broadband and VoIP, shops preparation, roaming agreements, project management program.
6 months after the assignment of the license, the technical launch took place with the first official call by Orange Tunisia in the presence of the Secretary of State and the Tunisian Minister of Communications Technologies.
Three months later, on 4th of May 2010, turn to the commercial launch. A hundred of clients have waited in front of the 9 outlets freshly Orange colors painted, and 700 others outlets points. 3G + offers (www.orange.tn) have already convinced thousands of Tunisians: these first sales confirm the popularity of Tunisian people for the internet mobile and the Orange brand.
Since then, 500 2G/3G sites were integrated and optimized, the MSC 2 ** and the MGW of Sousse are interconnected with all domestic and international operationnal services.
By 2015, a 2G/3G radio infrastructure of more than 1600 sites will be set up and a domestic backbone will be built. The ambition of Orange in Tunisia is to provide convergent services and new customer experience. The main priorities are the expansion of the Internet access, the fast development of dual-play (broadband and VoIP), the livebox deployment and the marketing of the new business offers.
After Orange Niger, Orange Kenya and Orange Armenia, this new success demonstrates once again the ability of Sofrecom to help the France Telecom – Orange Group to take up the challenges of new operator launching: new license, privatisation, new services, anticipation face to competitors development...
