Web Source: a strategic application serving major accounts

Orange Business Services’ Large Projects Division assists the company’s major account clients to implement and manage complex projects and international telecommunications outsourcing. 

Working closely with its partners – network vendors, third-party operators and integrators – Orange Business Services serves as the customer’s prime telecoms contractor. For this purpose, since 2001 it has developed an innovative outsourcing information system called Web Source. 

This system can manage voice, data and mobile networks as well as IT services such as hosting, messaging and security. 

As part of a project to outsource the management of its clients’ subscribers base, the Large Projects Division developed the « Order-to- Cash » macro-process. Supported by Web Source, this enables the customer to accept orders, receive an exact, dated bill, and to recover its claims.

Evolutive, flexible and high performance

Over 10 years, Sofrecom has participated in every stage of the software engineering of Web Source: business and functional analysis, functional, software and technical design, development, qualification and deployment.

This complete telecoms outsourcing management information system used by Orange Business Services includes four modules: 

  • Orders: inventory management by means of a workflow configured by the customer, registration and processing tracking, modification or closure of the services
  • Mediation: integrates the call data record of all international operators
  • Billing: using a format defined with the customer
  • Reporting: the Web Source reporting concept facilitates a global view of all customer’ telecom activities.
