The four-year agreement reached between the manufacturer and the software provider centres particularly on the reciprocal provision of their public, private and hybrid cloud solutions. For example, HP can now distribute Microsoft’s Office 365, Exchange Server 2010, Office SharePoint Server 2010 and Lync Server 2010 solutions. In exchange, the manufacturer will provide its cloud-based solutions: HP Enterprise Cloud Services – Messaging, HP Enterprise Cloud Services – Collaboration and HP Enterprise Cloud Services – Real-Time Collaboration.
The two American giants are deploying their data centres for this initiative; data will be hosted by either HP or Microsoft, depending on the cloud solution chosen by customers. The new offers have been available since December 2011 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. HP and Microsoft engineering resources will collaborate to deploy and support the new solutions.
