Through various actions Sofrecom regularly demonstrates its commitment to help associations working to combat cancer. Let's take a look at its participation in two high-profile events organized by La Ligue Contre le Cancer (France's Anti-Cancer League) and the Tout le monde chante contre le cancer association (Everyone sings to combat cancer).
Sofrecom marathon runners support the Anti-Cancer League: a challenge and a commitment!
In April 2013, nine Sofrecom employees divided into three relay teams competed in the first edition of "Les Alpilles Marathon" starting in the southern French town of Arles. Running in the "relay" category (3 x 14 kilometers) they were there to raise money for charity in this a very serious sporting challenge.
By competing in this relay-type marathon, our valiant runners reflected the values of this project sponsored by Orange: team spirit, sportsmanship, pushing oneself to the limit, and citizen solidarity in support of an important national cause.
In this race the three team members run together in each leg for mutual support and all three pass the relay at the same time. At the end of the last leg the first two teams join the third and all nine runners cross the finishing line together!
Proud of their performance in this event, our runners had no intention of stopping there. On 24th March 2013, they competed in the Marseille Marathon (3 teams of 4 runners, a mix of 12 Sofrecom and Orange France employees). In this relay our runners were supporting the "Sourire à la Vie" (Smile on Life) association which strives to improve the quality of life of young cancer patients.
