Sofrecom actively supports associations working to help handicapped people. As part of this commitment, several employees participated in 2013 and 2014 in a relay race in support of the French branch of the Special Olympics association which works worldwide to aid the social integration of mentally handicapped people through sport. Special Olympics France runs various activities from vacation centers to training schemes, as well as organizing major sporting events for young athletes and older people as well.
This relay race incarnates values that Sofrecom hold dear, such as pushing back one's personal limits, determination, dynamism and sharing. Sofrecom’s participation demonstrates its desire to act, to develop its citizen role and to federate its staff around solidarity actions. In this case a very concrete action to help the integration of mentally handicapped people.
Like last year, eight volunteers were on the starting line of this Special Olympics race in October facing rivals from other companies around Paris. Forty teams in all, including two from Sofrecom who will be there again in 2015 in the hope of earning a place on the winners' podium!
