Unilever, the large Dutch/UK-owned consumer goods manufacturer, has tasked Capgemini with creating its first Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
The EDW will provide real-time commercial information on Unilever customers, markets and operations. As part of a major transformation programme scheduled over the next three years, Capgemini will be in charge of the migration of legacy databases and will provide datamining tools to support Unilever in its decision-making processes.
Willem Eelman, Unilever’s Global Chief Information Officer, said “This programme is one of our top strategic initiatives. It will transform the way our businesses around the world access and use information”.
The CIO went on to say that “Capgemini was the natural partner for us given their strong global Business Information Management experience and understanding of our business”. Capgemini has been providing BPO services to Unilever in the finance sector for the last five years.
